What's up, y'all? Welcome to house of cards and LGBTQ podcast. I am APRIANIC, your most benevolent Hoast, and, y'all, I'm so fucking tech savvy. I am Jeff Bezos, free, just free, PAS. Oh all right, I am smont and I am your slowtiest host. You're not even wrong, but we love you for it. Um, I u see they pronounced. Oh my God, I forgot to say that part. anyways, no matter, no matter, he still doesn't say pronouns. Yeah, I guess. I used set her pronouns. I I guess. And it's just US tonight. It is. Jackson has abandoned us. Get again to fend for ourselves. He be camping. So I yeah, so I figured out how to record for the PODCASTS. And yes, actually, Steve Jobs, I am Elon Musk. I look okay, of applause. Thank you, incredible, I I love it so much. I've never felt so smart. All right, I will promote really quick. If you want to find us online, you can find us on Instagram at House of cards underscore podcast, on twitter at lgbt under scare, underscore deck and on Tick Tock. Finally, Oh my fucking gone. Yeah, hard podcast. That is Santastic. Oh my God, look at you. You are incredible. I love you so much. I know, amazing. I should make more tick tocks for us. I think I made one. I did. I made one on the way home. Oh my God, did you? Yeah, while my brother and I walked a subway and like, so, I don't know if anyone else does this, but like whenever I'm walking and stuff, like I will kick a rock, but then like I'll keep kicking that same rock. Yes, yeah, so my brother and I did that all the way to subway and then back to our house. Oh my God, yeah, it was. It was a fucking trick. That was like forty minutes that we spent with that rock. It's on my shelf right now. So basically, yeah, you know the audio that's like that's just a stupid boulder, and it's like it's not just a boulder, it's a rock. Oh my God, yeah, APP so I love that so much. Jackson is...

...trolling me in the chat, is he? Yeah, and now I'm like paranoid. Oh my God, wait, do you want to hear my final online? Jim Grade is yes, eighty seven. Oh my God, that's so incredible. Right, gratulations, you absolutely fucking slade. Love it all right, and do you want to get into the topic, or do you have anything else you want to talk about? I I have absolutely nothing else on the gay agenda today. It really just says fun shit, which is talking. I have not pretty much like I only have straight agenda, apparently, because I got a boyfriend. Yeah, Oh my God, he's sound cloud rapper boy. We call him sound cloud rapper boy. I Adore I know, I love it. Sobs like spotify, like well, you said, so happy about it. I love it so much. He's so cute. I stole his hood of you, as you should. You know as you should. It's so funny because, like, okay, so the hoodie is a musician who is who he is absolutely obsessed with, and he let me take it. Like Hello, oh, that's like if someone like me loaning a copy of my favorite book to something like my own personal copy, right. Would I like that? I would be like if I gave him my copy of Catcher in the Rye. Oh my God, yeah, yeah, absolutely, you're so happy. I love it. Um. Anyways, let's get sad, because you know it's sad. I'm not as good. I'm not as good with the transitions as Jackson. I don't know how neither of US are. I don't know how he does it. Actually, I had I had a thought. I'm the only one who hasn't yet missed recording. Really, you and Jackson have both missed one. Oh whack. It's going to be so whack when I finally do anyways. Yeah, UM, today we're talking a bit about internalized homophobia, which, you know, unfortunate. It isn't it isn't very, I guess happy. It's but it's not very fun. But you know, there's also like a bit of privilege that we're going to be talking about in this episode. Yeah, yes, and I'm the one who starts reading, so I guess I better hop into it. This feels so weird without Jackson, I know, Oh my God, feels illegal. It is illegal. It is illegal. It's like when you're...

...sitting on the couch or something and then a dog lies on you like you can't move. Yeah, literally, it's not allowed. It's not allowed. It's absolutely fucking illegal. I guess memes while we're recording. He is he can't record with us because he has like shitty Wi fi where he's camping and shit, but he's sending US means. Oh my God, I'm saving this one to the chat. It's so funny. Make it to her LGBT podcast on time. Be Straight with her boyfriend. ME, like deciding between two things. I know, I'm I'm saving all of them. I I love it so much we should post them all on our instagram. Oh my God, this is so funny. We totally do it. Yah. Yeah, time to get sad. So you know, agree, he's I'm gonna embroider that on a pillow. I got stitch in my fucking drawer. Oh, this is what happens when Jackson's mat here. We talked about sad shit and we laugh about it. Okay, I literally Jack Out Let us. He won't let us. So yeah, I've been thinking about like how to introduce this topic for a while now, and I think it's a great time to talk about it after we've just discussed fluidity in our last episode. So you know, today we're going to be talking about like some privilege and Howophobia, like by phobia, transphobia, kind of like in the internal I sense. We've briefly touched on these subjects before because you know, like homophobia, you can't really like the LGBT and not experience some sort of like oppression or prejudice. And you know, during our five far series on Western history, when we were reminded how lucky we are to live somewhere where we can't be like prosecuted for our gender and sexuality. Yes, Oh my turn. Well, it can sometimes make for uncomfortable conversation. Privilege and homophobia are things that need to be recognized in the community. Reminding ourselves of our privilege to live somewhere where we can be accepted without widespread fear is also what reminds us of why the fight for our liberation is still ongoing. Probably shouldn't be a choice, it should be a human right. Everyone should have the chance to exist without the fear of being criminalized. But like be gay to crime. Yeah, exactly. As for Homophobia itself, you know, it sounds like that, believe it or not, comes with its own privilege, and that is internalized homophobia. So there is like a small content warning here because, like internalized homophobia, it's similar to depression and anxiety in some ways, in that it... like a mental like disorder of a kind, and we don't want to cause anyone any discomfort. Yes, yeah, because you know, we we care about y'all. Want, want, y'all say, be happy. Ye did, he did. He on new slogan be gay, be happy. He gave me happy. Oh my God. So internalized homophobia. It acts, you know, the same way as like internalized Misogyny, Talk Masculinity and internalized racism, in that it stems from being taught certain like, quote unquote, beliefs, quote unquote, because those beliefs are bullshit. Um, internalize homophobia occurs when an Lgbtti a plus person is taught certain, quote unquote, beliefs, because bullshit, for so long or so often that they begin to believe that, you know, any kind of gender sexuality other than SIS heat is like immoral or disgusting or sin and all those dumb ass excuses. Yes, UM, internalized homophobia can have serious effects on mental health. Internalized Homophobia has been described as a conscious and unconscious reaction to external negative attitudes, quote unquote, about people who don't conform to a man of normativity, which is the preconceived idea of heterosexual monogamy or the gender binary. Internalized Homophobia is often taught and or integrated into an individual throughout their childhood, usually stemming from a very young age. Internalized Homophobia is extremely detrimental to an individual as they start to realize their gender and sexuality. This could lead to them harming themselves through substance abuse, rejecting their identity, forcing themselves into the closet, possibly harming others and an array of mental and insecurity disorders and trying to force the quote gay end quote out of them. Yeah, that's all just awful. Yeah, it's not pog absolutely not pog not valid as fuck. It is invalid as fuck. Exactly. What what they opt opposite of? What would the opposite of? Fuck Me Virgin, verge, valid as Virgin. Wait, that comes that came out. That came out wrong. I'm not shaming virgins. I am. I am, in fact, a virgin. Invalid has no check. Um, UM, yeah, invalidis Frick invalidis Frick Nice.

Yeah, good, safe. We Love Virgins here. Yes, we love virgins here, greatly, love me virgins, love virgins, for Jackson is gonna like listen to this and be like, what the absolute fuck are they on? We're on extra virgin extra version, olive oil. Oh My god, thinking of olive oil. Actually, one of my favorite text verst is like, why do they call it extra virgin olive oil when it fucks so extremely literally, Oh my God, it is like, you know when you go out to like fucking olive garden or something and they give you the bread with just like a little bowl of oil. Yeah, Oh my God's so good. Like humanity free, yes, peak, humanity is just bread. Yes, spare bread. Jesus was right about that. I fucking love bread. I thought you were going to say you fucking love Jesus, and I was. I mean I was like, I never knew that, but good for you, man. I love Jesus. No bread. Just kidding, I'm just kidding. Jesus can be valid at points. Yes, yes, extremely, not extremely, I wouldn't say extremely for most points. Honestly, my most like controversial Christianity take is like, and I say controversial in the fact that most people that I tell it to at my Christian High School, however, we're like yes, what, excuse me, and that's like there's literally scientific group that there was a real man named who was like Jesus Christ, like there was an actual existing human being person and, like Bro, someone can like Jesus Christ existed as a man, but I don't think he was a man valid. I think he was a beautiful woman, absolutely fucking valid. Who would worship of man? You say that, Um, but most of the Westernized Society, unfortunately, unfortunately. Yeah, but like Jesus Christ was literally just a man. Like, I don't. I don't believe in Shit. I'm atheist as hell. Yeah, he was literally just a man, probably just like a con artist, Oh my God. Yeah, or like a fucking magician or scientist or something like. I turned this water...

...into wine, puts like red die in it and makes everyone pretend like they're drunk. The Placebo Effect Literally, Oh my God. Okay, we just got we got very relate religion. I couldn't think of the word. Yeah, anyways, we still have to finish the topic. Um, we got carried away. Talked about fucking bread and Shit. Um, you know, going back to privilege, it's it's a privilege to not have to struggle horribly with internalized homophobia and a lot like. That's something that people don't really realize, which is like kind of why I wanted to talk about it and stuff. Oh goodness, gracious, my throat got very dry. I think my mouth was open too wide, and then like a whole bunch of air got in Canky Right, thank you wink. Jackson's going to listen to this and be like wow, it's literally Disabrian smon flirting. Literally, that's all this is. That's all this is. We're going to marry me? Of course I will. Let's go to Vegas. Yeah, internalized homophobia lead like, whether it's as a result of friends or family or something else entirely, because, you know, literally everything has an effect on you and like your mind. So, I don't know, even like a teacher or some Shit, like older mentor sort of thing, and he can happens on you. Yeah, absolutely, anyone. It's really dangerous because, yeah, it's really, really bad for mental health and Shit, HMM, it is, it is. It's awful. I've like heard horror stories and stuff and I don't even want to think about it. Like, yeah, personally, I'm really thankful that I've never had this struggle. Like my parents never forced this kind of thinking, even going to like whenever they talked about like having possible boyfriends, they'd always be like, Oh, you know, boyfriends or girlfriends. They always kind of gave me that option and actually, right after I wrote this episode, I got Super Emotional and I text my mom and dad and I was like thank you for like making me feel safe and welved. I know it's really so cute with the whole odd thanks. I try really yeah, just happens. Oh my gosh. Okay, this is the kind of acceptance that everyone should grow up with but unfortunately doesn't. I didn't necessarily grow up...

...with on acceptance, just not as good acceptance as avery has had. For sure, her eyes, her eyes, and this is why privilege reminds us that this is what we're fighting for and teaching about. Reach out if you're struggling and look for support. Where you can reach out include. Aren't there like lgbt hotlines? I'm pretty sure there are. Yeah, here, I can like totally starts there. Probably are. You can honestly probably slide into our DM's as well if you're looking for some advice, but we definitely cannot fix issues that you have that are very bad. Yeah, just teachers ourselves, but we can offer advice or support. Yes, we are infants. We are infants as well, though, Um, and you can definitely reach out to any trysted people in your life. That can be friends, that can be family, can be school people, can be anyone. Stop the oppression and take care of your mental health, because no matter what kind of home you come from, you are valid as look. Yeah, yeah, and virgins. Virgins are valid to we've arge in there that. We learned that today. So we're so our slots. Absolutely. Don't let anyone. Don't let anyone shame you for how much sex you do or do not have. Yes, that could be another episode topic. Yaw, embrace the sex or not. Or Yeah, that's my choice. anyways. Yeah, speaking of that hardline thing, I tried googling lgbt hotline. First thing that came up was find out howp plyingcom, which honestly, like this website, slaps just a really asked me to like type in my country and then the sort of issue. Oh my God, again what they are in the throat. Thank you. So you know, I typed in where we live, which is like North America, and then gender sexual identity. So there's like your are connecting your kids help phone. which kids help phone actually like, for all the shit it gets, it's actually pretty great. Yeah, kids help phone kind of slaps. It kind of slaps. Yeah, we validated, it's validated. The cards validated. Yeah, it's like it's so that number is one eight hundred six, six eight, sixty eight, sixty eight. There's a first nations and inuit hope for wellness helpline which is one eight fifty five two four, two three three, one zero. I was going to say hundred ten, but that's not right. Um, there's a child and adolescent mental health crisis line which is one eight hundred and sixty six, four, three, five four or five nine. And, you know, feel... to reach out and look into finding some of your own resources and shit. Yes, and private browsing does exist. So if you're concerned about people finding out that you're searching up help, lance, just go into private browsing. Yep, exactly. That's how that's that's what I use to take an am gay quiz at the tender age of twelve. Me To yeah, honestly, like word of advice. If you're searching up and am I gay quiz, you're dead, probably a little bit queer. You're a your tad fruity. Yeah, just a little bit like, you know, your wrist is kind of limp Um. You know, you got maybe a few too many rings on your fingers. Yeah, definitely, some like like way too many fucking necklaces. Yeah, definitely, definitely, definitely, probably going to chop your long hair into a Bob. Yeah, yeah, definitely, that her that. Yeah, we put you like when I like, you probably sink to the bottom because I don't know, you're probably carrying like rocks and shit in your pockets. That was a call out for me. All right, anything else to add? A Very Um Shit. We gotta say Jackson Sing. Yeah, I gotta remember what it is. Okay, like, hope you enjoyed this week's episode. Hope to see you next year. If you didn't, you're not valid as fucking we hate you. Oh my God, no, hope. We hope to see you next week. If not, have a good rest of your life. That's IT, right. Oh, and then it's like everything else to add. fellowed his book and then every so something worky. Yeah, usually something about food. But I gotta go watch cars to with my brother. o My God, that sounds so fun. Oh my God. Yeah, but we've both been like saying the little like seem yeah, music all day like any time one of US mentions it, we're both like Betd Bedd, but he didn't. I'm literally driving over so I can come watch it with you. Oh my God, best tee he he. All right, thank you all for listening. Thank y'all. I gotta figure out how to do this. So I think I just had stopped recording, but I thought so. What's supposed to happen after that? I don't know. Let's I don't know. I think it just goes into the chat. Is it automatically save? When I hit yes, it does stop. Recordings are available for thirty days in the chat. So we're good. Oh Awesome, I was just I literally just ask Jackson to odd.

Here it goes. Leave a faith.
